First Prize Tomato Aspic Recipe. Canadian Thanksgiving is here... and a childhood favourite is back on the menu: Tomato Aspic
2 Tbsp gelatine
¼ cup cold water
½ cup boiling water
4 cups tomatoes (fresh or canned)
1 Tbsp chopped onion
½ tsp celery seed or celery stalk
2 or 3 whole cloves
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp lemon juice

Soak gelatine in cold water then dissolve in the boiling water.
Cook tomatoes, onions, celery seed, cloves, sugar, and salt for 15 minutes. Strain through a fine strainer, add lemon juice and dissolved gelatine, pour in molds and chill.
